About the Role

This is your chance to shape tomorrow’s transit and infrastructure systems right here in the GTA. As a Senior Project Engineer, you’ll support a major client by coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, guiding complex construction initiatives, and ensuring the successful delivery of high‑impact capital projects. You’ll work in a hybrid environment, spending at least two days per week embedded with the client to drive collaboration, problem‑solving, and delivery excellence. Develop project concepts and scope of work, aligning with stakeholder requirements. Define quality standards, budget parameters, schedule expectations, and scope breakdowns. Prepare scope and construction review sign‑off documents and secure stakeholder approvals. Manage design progress from preliminary through detailed phases and conduct design review meetings that address constructability and maintainability. Approve engineering work plans and ensure compliance with scope, schedule, and budget. Coordinate design compliance across all departments by integrating constructability and maintainability requirements. Initiate alternative analyses, engineering studies, and life‑cycle cost assessments to support cost‑effective design and construction solutions. Oversee preparation of construction contract documents and supervise technical specification development while providing ongoing engineering support during construction. Manage contract changes, ensure technical compliance, and lead close‑out documentation review and as‑built coordination. Prepare project summary sheets, justification reports, and coordinate budgeting with Capital Programming and Estimating teams. Create project administration documents such as work plans, change orders, procurement requests, and status reports. • Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and guide complex construction initiatives. • Develop project concepts, define scope, quality standards, budgets, and schedules. • Prepare and secure approvals for scope and construction review documents. • Manage design progress and conduct constructability and maintainability review meetings. • Approve engineering work plans and monitor compliance with schedule and budget. • Conduct alternative analyses, engineering studies, and life‑cycle cost assessments. • Oversee preparation of construction contract documents and technical specifications. • Provide engineering support during construction and manage contract changes. • Lead close‑out documentation review and as‑built coordination. • Prepare project summary sheets, justification reports, and support budgeting processes. • Create and manage project administration documents such as work plans, change orders, procurement requests, and status reports.

What You Bring

You hold a Professional Engineering license (PEO) or are licensed through the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA). You bring seven or more years of experience delivering engineering and construction projects within a transit operating environment. You have hands‑on experience supporting or leading heavy construction or large, multidisciplinary capital programs. You understand the Construction Act, contracting processes, inspection practices, and engineering principles that drive successful delivery. You’re proficient in managing complex stakeholder groups and navigating technical, operational, and schedule‑driven requirements. You are comfortable preparing and reviewing technical contract documents, scopes, specifications, and engineering reports, and you are skilled with Microsoft Office and common engineering project‑administration tools. • Hold a Professional Engineering license (PEO) or Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) license. • Minimum 7 + years experience delivering engineering and construction projects in a transit environment. • Experience leading heavy construction or large multidisciplinary capital programs. • Knowledge of the Construction Act, contracting processes, inspection practices, and engineering principles. • Ability to manage complex stakeholder groups and navigate technical, operational, and schedule requirements. • Proficient in preparing and reviewing technical contract documents, scopes, specifications, and reports. • Skilled with Microsoft Office and engineering project administration tools.

Compensation varies by region: AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT $114,600–$151,800; MB & ON $104,500–$143,900; NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC $103,500–$137,400. The final salary may differ based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, and business needs, and the wage range may be adjusted for business purposes. • Competitive salary ranges based on region ($103,500 – $151,800) with adjustments for experience and qualifications. • Flexible hybrid work model with at least two days on‑site client collaboration.
