About the Role

The Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability Manager role is based at Schneider Electric’s Plymouth site, tasked with shaping the future of HSE and sustainability across the facility. The manager will act as the site champion for health, safety, environment and sustainability, designing and continuously improving the HSES strategy to meet regulatory requirements, operational excellence, and Schneider Electric’s Group Sustainability commitments, while collaborating with leadership, employees, auditors and external authorities. Responsibilities include leading a proactive HSES culture, managing health and safety issues, implementing group standards, and promoting physical, mental and social wellbeing through health initiatives. The role also ensures compliance with all health, safety, environment, energy and facility management regulations, leads internal IMS audits, represents the site during external audits, oversees waste management, emissions control and environmental standards, and maintains emergency response and contingency plans. Sustainability duties involve championing site‑wide sustainability, defining and executing energy‑reduction plans aligned with Schneider Electric guidelines, and reporting sustainability KPIs to the Plant Director. The manager serves as the primary contact for employee councils, healthcare bodies and HSE authorities, supports procurement of PPE and safety equipment, and guarantees accurate communication and KPI reporting throughout the plant. • Lead development and implementation of HSES strategy and culture. • Manage health, safety and wellbeing initiatives, including physical, mental and social health programs. • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environment, energy and facility regulations. • Conduct internal IMS audits and represent the site in external audits. • Oversee waste management, emissions control, and adherence to environmental standards (ROHS, W3E, etc.). • Develop and maintain emergency response and contingency plans. • Define and execute energy reduction plans aligned with Schneider Electric guidelines. • Report sustainability KPIs and performance to Plant Director. • Act as primary liaison for employee councils, healthcare bodies and HSE authorities. • Support procurement and cost management of PPE and safety equipment.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate brings over five years of EHS leadership in a complex manufacturing environment, a NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent), a proven record of sustainability initiatives, strong Microsoft Office skills, and preferably a Lead Auditor accreditation, along with a degree in a related field and fluency in English. • Require 5+ years EHS leadership experience in manufacturing and NEBOSH (or equivalent) certification. • Must have proven sustainability initiative track record and strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
