About the Role

Key duties include developing detailed cost plans, producing monthly cost reports, coordinating cost data from design teams and contractors, and leading procurement and commercial negotiations. The manager will own change‑control processes, conduct cost risk analysis, implement Earned Value Management, and integrate cost with schedule and scope. Additional responsibilities involve driving value‑engineering initiatives, monitoring market trends, mentoring junior staff, and overseeing financial performance and SOX controls. • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and estimates throughout design and delivery phases. • Produce monthly cost reports, executive summaries, and funding updates for stakeholders. • Coordinate cost information from design teams, contractors, and vendors for validation and auditing. • Lead procurement strategy, pricing reviews, scope validation, and commercial negotiations. • Manage final accounts and ensure timely agreement. • Own change‑control process: review, estimate, negotiate, and reconcile change orders. • Support cost risk analysis, scenario planning, contingency management, and commitment tracking. • Implement robust cost control systems, including Earned Value Management where applicable. • Integrate cost with schedule and scope, collaborating closely with project controls teams. • Drive engineering priorities based on cost impact and lead value‑engineering initiatives. • Monitor market trends (escalation, labor, material pricing) and provide timely insights. • Serve as primary client interface, delivering executive‑level updates and service excellence. • Ensure compliance with internal Business Management Systems and delivery methodologies. • Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a high‑performance culture. • Oversee financial management, margin tracking, and monthly fee/resource forecasts. • Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.

What You Bring

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering or a related discipline, and possess 5–7+ years of cost management or project‑controls experience on complex, mission‑critical projects such as data centres. Construction consultancy experience, knowledge of MEP systems, strong budgeting and EVM skills, and expertise in procurement and commercial contract management are essential. RICS accreditation (or progress toward it), excellent communication and stakeholder management, analytical problem‑solving, and proficiency with industry cost‑management software are also required.
