About the Role
Our Site Safety Officers are responsible for planning, preparing, organizing, implementing, and executing all safety administrative and performance requirements for an assigned project in accordance with contract specifications, EM‑385, OSHA, RQ internal Safety Management System, and the Accident Prevention Plan (APP). They integrate safety processes with the project team, may oversee daily activities for direct reports, and must work on‑site. • Plan, prepare, organize, implement, and execute all safety administrative and performance requirements per contract specs, EM‑385, OSHA, and company safety system. • Integrate safety processes with the project team to support safe production of quality work. • Provide oversight of daily activities for direct reports and ensure compliance on active military base sites. • Maintain required certifications: CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30‑hour (within the past 5 years). • Relocate or travel to on‑site management as required; position demands on‑site presence.

What You Bring
We are seeking a Construction Site Safety Officer (SSHO) to join our West Coast Field Operations team for military projects in San Diego County. The office assignment is in Carlsbad, but the role requires on‑site presence on active military bases anywhere in the county, with potential relocation or travel. Ideal candidates will combine relevant work experience, safety training, and certifications such as CHST, OHST, or ASP. They must have at least five years of commercial construction experience and five years of construction safety management at the job‑site level, plus competent‑person training in fall protection, confined space, electrical, trenching/excavation, PPE, and scaffolding. Five consecutive years of documented safety training averaging 24 hours per year is required, and experience with NAVFAC or USACE clients and EM‑385‑1‑1 is preferred. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office is required; familiarity with Viewpoint or RMS/QCS is a plus. Current CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30‑hour certifications (within the past five years) are mandatory. Benefits
