About the Role

The Operations Supervisor – Hauling Operations oversees collection activities across commercial, residential, roll‑off, and container services within a geographically dispersed division. Reporting to the Operations and General Managers, the role ensures safety, regulatory compliance, budget attainment, and a culture of employee engagement. Key responsibilities include leading safety initiatives, eliminating unsafe conditions on routes, collaborating with sales and maintenance to keep equipment compliant, and driving accident‑prevention programs. The supervisor also delivers superior customer experience by meeting missed‑pickup goals, resolving service issues, and acting as a positive company representative. Efficiency goals are achieved by setting productivity targets, optimizing routes, reducing labor hours, and supporting fleet maintenance, while fostering a collaborative team environment and talent development. • Provide leadership to achieve safety goals and remove unsafe conditions on driver routes. • Partner with sales and maintenance to ensure equipment compliance and safe new customer routes. • Deliver customer service that exceeds expectations, resolve missed pickups and service disruptions promptly. • Lead drivers to exceed productivity targets and optimize routes for maximum density and efficiency. • Reduce route hours through service conversions, container upsizing, and other efficiency techniques. • Foster employee engagement by building collaborative teams and developing talent for advancement. • Direct large staff, set aggressive results‑oriented goals, and marshal resources to achieve objectives. • Apply problem‑solving, analytical, critical‑thinking, and decision‑making skills to operational challenges. • Manage labor hours and disposal expenses to meet or exceed budgeted financial goals.
