About the Role

The role involves managing construction phase services from pre‑construction through closeout, coordinating with clients, handling RFIs, change orders, shop drawings, schedules, and approving contractor pay applications. The inspector will monitor site activities for compliance, prepare field reports and photos, troubleshoot issues, and provide value‑engineered solutions in collaboration with engineering staff. • Manage construction phase services for municipal and private utility projects. • Coordinate client communications, respond to RFIs, and process change orders. • Review shop drawings, construction schedules, and approve contractor pay applications. • Monitor single or multiple site activities to ensure conformance with plans and specifications. • Prepare field reports, photographs, and site investigation documentation. • Troubleshoot construction issues and propose alternative, value‑engineered solutions. • Review bid documents, technical specifications, and conduct constructability reviews. • Assist in preparing engineer estimates and evaluating contractor bids. • Mentor junior engineering staff and provide construction observation training. • Conduct meetings with clients and contractors and support project permitting.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or higher, construction superintendent/foreman or inspection experience, strong understanding of municipal and FDOT specifications, the ability to read plans and ensure site safety, effective communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and willingness to travel within Florida. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of municipal and FDOT specifications and site safety practices. • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with excellent communication abilities. • Willing to travel throughout the state of Florida.
