About the Role

The role involves designing industrial building automation control systems, creating detailed submittal packages, developing sequences of operations, selecting equipment, producing bills of material, and maintaining thorough documentation. Collaboration with sales, project managers, and external stakeholders is essential, as is supporting ongoing service engineering and developing internal standards. • Design industrial building automation control projects meeting scope, budget, and equipment compatibility. • Create AutoCAD/Visio drawings, submittals, riser diagrams, network architecture, and wiring schematics. • Develop comprehensive BAS submittal packages with detailed documentation. • Interpret project documents and estimates to select appropriate equipment. • Generate and validate Sequences of Operations (SOO) for system requirements. • Prepare accurate Bills of Material for each design project. • Integrate BACnet MSTP/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU, and LonWorks protocols. • Maintain clear documentation of designs, wiring diagrams, and software configurations. • Design large‑scale projects using standard tools and practices. • Support sales during estimation/bid phases with design expertise. • Collaborate with Project Managers to produce RFIs and resolve design issues. • Identify discrepancies in plans/specifications and draft RFIs for clarification. • Apply HVAC knowledge to unitary equipment, AHUs, DOAS, chillers, cooling towers, and boiler plants. • Forecast design labor requirements and track against budget goals. • Provide ongoing service engineering support for existing building systems. • Recommend new products that improve functionality and value. • Develop and maintain engineering standards libraries for Bosch and the industry. • Facilitate communication with external customers and vendors for timely engineering deliverables. • Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and coordination. • Support contractors in solving building operating issues beyond control system operation.

What You Bring

The organization defines three job levels: Level 1, which requires supervision to meet objectives; Level 2, which consistently achieves all objectives and mentors Level 1 staff; and Senior, which brings extensive technical expertise, leads complex projects, and provides mentorship as needed. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and have at least eight years in building automation, including four years producing BAS submittals and using AutoCAD/Visio. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, extensive experience in commercial or industrial HVAC control systems, and programming expertise with Tridium/Niagara tools. Physical requirements include the ability to kneel, stoop, crawl, lift up to 30 lb, stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods, as well as maintaining a satisfactory driving record for company‑vehicle use.
