About the Role

The technician will receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, contact customers to confirm equipment issues, diagnose problems, and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm and related building systems. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals, following troubleshooting procedures, installing systems from multiple manufacturers, and ensuring customer satisfaction through clear communication and proper service documentation. Work involves troubleshooting and repairing installed systems, including panel programming, device replacement, low‑voltage circuit resolution, and system testing. The role requires organizing technical resources, completing required documentation promptly, participating in an on‑call rotation, providing recommendations and quotes for efficiency improvements, and occasionally working after hours to meet customer needs. • Respond to service calls, diagnose and repair fire alarm and life safety systems. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. • Provide excellent customer service and obtain signatures on completed work. • Participate in on‑call rotation and mentor team members. • Program fire alarm, security, and access control panels; replace devices and troubleshoot low‑voltage circuits. • Maintain truck inventory and adhere to all safety guidelines. • Offer recommendations, quotes, and upselling opportunities to improve facility efficiency.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least four years of documented experience with low‑voltage electrical systems such as fire/life safety, access control, nurse call, and paging. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with NICET I certification (NICET II preferred), a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift 50‑70 lb, work at heights up to 40 ft, and flexibility to work weekends. Strong written and verbal communication, customer service skills, and adherence to safety guidelines are essential. • Minimum 4 years experience with low‑voltage systems (fire/life safety, access control, nurse call, paging). • Physically capable of lifting 50‑70 lb, working at heights up to 40 ft, and handling flexible weekend hours. • High school diploma or equivalent; NICET I required, NICET II preferred; valid driver’s license.
