Plan and schedule repair works, coordinate operatives and ensure timely completion.

About the Role
As an organised and proactive Planner you will schedule repairs – including compliance with Awaab’s Law – allocate work to operatives and subcontractors, and ensure jobs are completed promptly to a high standard. You will act as a central point of contact for residents, operatives, subcontractors and colleagues, helping to deliver a responsive, customer‑focused repairs service. • Schedule and plan repair works, including Awaab’s Law compliance, to optimise operatives and resources. • Manage appointments, update job statuses and monitor progress using the MCM system. • Track overdue tasks and support the team in meeting performance targets and KPIs. • Coordinate operatives and subcontractors to ensure timely, fully equipped job completion. • Communicate updates and manage expectations with residents. • Identify and escalate operational issues to support the repairs team. • Monitor workloads and plan cover for absences and holidays. • Allocate work to subcontractors and raise material orders following procurement procedures. • Ensure accurate use of IT tools such as PDAs and subcontractor portals. • Maintain clear, accurate records across all systems. • Deliver professional, courteous, customer‑focused service at all times. • Follow health and safety requirements and company policies. • Collaborate with colleagues to meet service delivery standards. • Support company procedures, maintain assets and provide cover for other planners when needed. • Attend required meetings and training sessions.

What You Bring
All candidates must have the right to work in the UK, as Mears does not provide visa sponsorship, and successful hires will undergo background, identity and security checks before starting. • Proven experience in planning, scheduling or coordination within repairs, maintenance or a similar field. • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths. • Experience in a fast‑paced, reactive, customer‑focused environment. • Strong IT skills with ability to use job‑management, scheduling and appointment systems. • Excellent time‑management, organisational abilities and attention to detail. • Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills. • Customer‑focused approach with capability to handle queries and challenging situations professionally. • Understanding of repairs and maintenance processes. • Experience planning and scheduling multi‑trade repairs using an ICT appointment or job‑management system.

The position offers an annual salary up to £30,000 for a full‑time permanent Planner based in Cambridge, working 42.5 hours a week, Monday‑Friday.
