About the Role
As a Systems Application Engineer II, you will design and deliver innovative building automation solutions that enhance energy efficiency, comfort, and reliability. You will own projects from pre‑sales support through design, documentation, and commissioning, acting as a technical expert for both internal teams and customers. This role requires the candidate to work on site, participating in job‑site walk‑throughs, turnover meetings, and hands‑on commissioning activities. • Review bid specifications and develop strategic exceptions. • Select optimal product mix and installation methods for cost‑effective solutions. • Prepare installation submittals and support handoff to operations. • Serve as technical resource for internal teams and customers. • Attend sales‑to‑operations turnover meetings and job‑site walk‑throughs. • Independently design BAS systems for standard and mission‑critical facilities. • Create custom design solutions to meet unique customer requirements. • Produce complete BAS design packages including mechanical layouts, electrical drawings, BOM, sequences of operation, valve/damper schedules, DDC panel layouts, and network architecture. • Analyze plans, codes, and specifications to determine project scope and risks. • Provide start‑up/commissioning documentation to installation teams. • Prepare engineering re‑estimates and collaborate with sales/management. • Create specs and drawings for components from external suppliers. • Select appropriate control products such as valves, sensors, and controllers. • Prepare RFIs and manage pre‑installation change orders. • Maintain and update hardware and engineering standards. • Developing intuitive graphical user interfaces for BAS systems. • Interpret and implement written sequences of operations.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (preferred). • 3–5 years of BAS, HVAC controls, or MEP experience. • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical training. • Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, mechanical, and control drawings. • Working knowledge of MS Office, Visio, and file structures. • Familiarity with BACnet, LON, and Modbus protocols. • Highly organized and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently. • BAS controls programming (Function Block, Script, Graphics). • Job‑site commissioning and system checkout experience. • Ability to follow and contribute to documentation and software standards. • Clear communication of project progress and technical solutions. • Experience collaborating with contractors and commissioning teams. • Ability to provide customer training when needed.

The position is based in the United States with an annual compensation range of $80,640 to $120,960, which includes base pay and a short‑term incentive. Individual pay within this band is determined by performance, knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
