About the Role

The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Finance Manager in delivering monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and land bank reporting, and provides supplementary data to the Group. The role also acts as deputy for the business‑unit Finance Manager and embraces a process‑improvement mindset. Key duties include overseeing the month‑end close, preparing management reports, reconciling balance sheets, supporting budgeting and forecasts, handling joint‑venture accounting, and assisting with audits and statutory compliance, while collaborating with BU teams to uphold financial policies. • Manage the consolidated monthly close process, ensuring a clean close of all sub‑ledgers, interfaces, and accounting judgements; GL closed by WD3. • Prepare and process month‑end journals. • Prepare monthly management reporting for the BU with commentary on YTD and full‑year forecast variances for FM/FD review and Board reporting. • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including central team entries, analyse items, clear anomalies and highlight issues to the FM. • Account, forecast and report on cost excesses and savings. • Produce management and statutory accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, recharges and board reporting for the NGP Joint Venture. • Liaise with external and internal agencies on VAT/Tax and Companies House returns for the NGP Joint Venture. • Coordinate with the commercial team to account for excesses and savings in the NGP Joint Venture. • Contribute to the annual budgeting and planning process. • Explain key budget outputs across BU departments, often to a non‑financial audience. • Ensure compliance with Finance Manual procedures and obtain timely dispensation when appropriate. • Support the Finance Manager with external and internal audit processes and statutory account preparation as required. • Engage with BU teams to ensure TW Group's financial policy and statutory requirements are met throughout the BU. • Assist the Finance Manager and Finance Director in preparing financial information efficiently and timely. • Positively contribute to the Finance Leadership team to manage, guide and motivate the Finance team. • Provide cover for direct reports and peers as required. • Undertake other ad‑hoc projects, processes and procedures as needed.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience as a financial or management accountant, strong knowledge of MS Office and Excel, and previous industry exposure. • Previous industry experience. • Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, with prior experience as a financial accountant (or external auditor) and management accountant. • Good (strong preferred) working knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
