About the Role

This position is part of the Materials function within the Global Supply Chain Center of Excellence and reports to the Manager – SCM. It supports the Eaton ES EMEA Business by overseeing fulfillment deliverables and provides leadership to the operational buying team at the GSC CoE. The role aims to build a scalable, capable organization through the development and deployment of standard processes across all sites, while managing strategic supplier performance and KPI monitoring. In the functional area, the incumbent will coordinate with network schedulers, process material requisitions, collaborate with suppliers and logistics partners, and manage order exceptions and internal escalations. They will monitor key performance indicators, resolve discrepancies, evaluate supply performance, handle supplier invoicing, and maintain optimal inventory levels in partnership with inventory analysts. Leadership responsibilities include full people‑management duties such as performance assessment, career development, training needs identification, budgeting, and attrition mitigation for the Materials Management team. The role also drives continuous‑improvement initiatives and champions projects that increase team productivity, while applying advanced technical knowledge of operational buying and planning. • Communicates and coordinates with network schedulers for plan and execution updates. • Works closely with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery of material to plant. • Executes exception messages (postponement, anticipation, cancellation) and manages internal escalations. • Monitors KPI of internal teams and provides action plans to mitigate risks and gaps. • Resolves internal discrepancies with operations and external issues with suppliers, such as delivery, claims, or quality problems. • Collaborates with logistics partners and suppliers for material delivery according to incoterms. • Evaluates and monitors supply performance (SOTD) and works with suppliers and category managers to implement corrective or preventive actions for on‑time performance improvement. • Manages supplier invoices and supports resolution of holds for timely payments. • Maintains inventory levels in line with objectives, working with inventory analysts and network schedulers to optimize stock.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a graduate degree, preferably a master’s in Materials, Production, or Operations Management, with an engineering background preferred. Required skills include materials planning, inventory management, data analytics, Power BI, SQL, Python, complex calculations, as well as strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal abilities to engage with senior management and supply‑chain stakeholders. • Understands material requirements and processes requisitions to provide purchase orders to suppliers. • People Management: prior team management experience in Materials Management, owning end‑to‑end team responsibilities including performance assessment, career growth, skill mapping, training needs, budgeting, forecasting, and attrition mitigation. • Continuous Improvement: demonstrates a practical approach to process improvement and champions projects that boost team productivity. • Technical Competencies & Service Delivery: possesses advanced functional knowledge and exposure in Operational Buying and Planning, with a willingness to learn new skills when required.
