Job Highlights
About the Role
In this role you will support the Rotor shop and Machine shop in Aldine/Westfield, operating large CNC and manual lathes, VTLs and mills to meet tight tolerances and OEM specifications for gas turbines, steam turbines and aero components. You will read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances and the required sequence of operations. • Support safety culture and drive a safe‑to‑start mindset • Align large rotors, gas components and parts within tight tolerances for machining, grinding and runout corrections • Read and interpret OEM drawings, REIs, work instructions and digital routers • Apply GD&T and basic algebra/geometry concepts • Calculate and set machining controls such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut, and edit machine control media • Start and monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining and adjust controls as needed • Select, align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on mills, lathes and grinders

Our IET team delivers industry‑leading products and services that optimize extraction, production and processing of energy. • Program CNC lathes, VTLs and milling machines • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years related experience (or equivalent education/experience combination) • Demonstrate advanced/expert skill level on turning, grinding, burnishing and CNC/manual milling, lathe and VTL operations • Operate both manual and CNC machines proficiently • Experience with gas turbine repair (HSPT, GE10s, FR3‑FR6, F7) is a strong plus
