About the Role
Key duties involve interpreting blueprints and specifications, identifying required tools and safety measures, fabricating and installing pipe systems, and performing quality tests. The role also includes rigging loads with appropriate equipment and providing occasional oversight to helpers and laborers, though there are no direct reports. • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical manuals to determine materials and scope. • Identify and gather necessary tools and safety precautions for each task. • Fabricate, install, and fit pipe systems, including valves, hangars, supports, and flanges. • Perform quality tests on installed piping and ensure compliance with specifications. • Hoist and rig loads using slings, chains, shackles, and other rigging equipment. • Oversee and provide expertise to helpers and laborers as needed.

What You Bring
The Industrial Pipe Fitter assembles, lays out, installs, and maintains pipe systems for steam, fluid, or gas, working with components such as pipe, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangars, and angles. Work locations include buildings, outdoors, tanks, boilers, underground excavations, and heights up to 300 ft. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license, pass a background check, and complete a drug screening. Applicants should have at least four years of experience as an industrial pipe fitter or helper, be proficient in reading prints, and demonstrate solid leadership and communication abilities. Experience on industrial construction projects is required. Required qualifications include a minimum of six years of pipe‑fitting experience, the ability to read technical manuals, knowledge of pipe‑fitting processes for combined‑cycle power plants, strong problem‑solving skills, manual dexterity, and the capacity to work both independently and as a team player. Preferred candidates are former or ROF’ed Zachry employees, hold NCCER Plus certification, and possess formal technical education. Physical demands involve extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lb, as well as occasional work at heights up to 300 ft using fall protection. Employees must be able to work in various weather conditions for up to 12‑hour shifts and wear required PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, respirators, and steel‑toe boots.
