Assist in field testing and documentation of construction materials on project sites.

About the Role
In this role you will observe and document field activities related to construction, as well as sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placements. You will perform calculations and reduce test data, draft reports, and use field screening equipment to record readings. Additionally, you will read maps, follow directions, interpret engineering and construction plans, and communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers, eventually becoming the sole ECS representative on site. • Observe and document construction field activities. • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. • Perform calculations, data reduction, and drafting of test results. • Use field screening equipment and record readings. • Read maps and interpret engineering and construction plans. • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. • Represent ECS as the sole site representative. • Provide reliable transportation for site travel; mileage reimbursed.

What You Bring
We are looking for candidates actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, with a strong interest in how building materials are used in construction. The position requires repeatedly carrying 40–70 lb (occasionally lifting up to 85 lb) and reliable transportation for job sites, with mileage reimbursed. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided. • Pursue a B.S. or M.S. in civil engineering, construction management, or related discipline. • Meet physical requirements: lift 40–70 lb repeatedly, up to 85 lb occasionally.
