About the Role

The engineer translates internal and external customer requirements into measurable performance criteria and creates technical documentation such as datasheets, interface control documents, and test plans. They design, CAD‑model, and test product prototypes while conducting DfM&A, GD&T, and tolerance stacking analyses to ensure manufacturability and reliability. Additionally, they manage engineering changes through ENOVIA, perform root‑cause analysis, DFMEA, and apply Six Sigma principles to resolve design, manufacturing, and quality issues. The role includes creating DVP&R test plans, coordinating with third‑party certification agencies, and leading performance testing for thermal, short‑circuit, and mechanical integrity. Collaboration with manufacturing engineers and production staff is essential to design processes, provide technical guidance, and represent the product line to internal and external customers. The engineer also identifies technology upgrades and cost‑reduction opportunities while ensuring compliance with standards such as UL, NEC, CSA, NEMA, IEEE, and CAN/ENA. • Translate customer requirements into measurable performance criteria and technical documentation. • Design, CAD‑model, and test product prototypes. • Perform DfM&A, GD&T, and tolerance stack analysis for manufacturability and reliability. • Maintain drawings, product structure, and design standards. • Improve existing products through design analysis and resolve manufacturing, quality, and customer issues. • Manage engineering changes using ENOVIA PLM system. • Conduct root‑cause analysis, DFMEA, and apply Six Sigma problem‑solving tools. • Create DVP&R test plans and coordinate certification with UL/CSA/ETL agencies. • Lead product performance testing (thermal, short‑circuit, mechanical integrity). • Collaborate with manufacturing to design processes and meet market needs. • Provide technical guidance to manufacturing engineers and production staff. • Act as technical consultant for internal and external customers. • Identify technology upgrades and cost‑reduction opportunities. • Ensure product compliance with UL, NEC, CSA, NEMA, IEEE, and CAN/ENA standards.
