About the Role
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer at the Sherman plant is tasked with developing, planning, and executing manufacturing engineering activities while actively leading continuous improvement programs. This role includes managing capital and non‑capital projects that enhance plant safety, quality, and productivity, and providing technical direction and training to plant personnel. Key duties involve supporting EHS initiatives and managing at least one MESH element, participating in the Sherman Annual Productivity Improvement process, and rapidly resolving quality defects through the 8D process. The engineer also leads capital project development—from scoping and vendor selection to execution—represents Sherman in VAVE and NPI efforts, and provides expertise in fabrication, paint, welding, and automation technologies. The position develops production capabilities, oversees constraint management, creates Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) plans, and maintains and evolves standard work documentation to ensure clear expectations and seamless integration of new processes. Additionally, the engineer advises other functions on production feasibility and process development. • Lead capital and non‑capital projects to improve safety, quality, and productivity. • Provide technical direction and train plant personnel on equipment and processes. • Manage at least one MESH element and support EHS culture initiatives. • Participate in and own the Sherman Annual Productivity Improvement process. • Resolve floor quality defects using the 8D methodology within 15 days. • Oversee capital project lifecycle: scope, RFQs, vendor selection, purchase agreements, issue resolution, on‑time and on‑budget execution. • Represent Sherman in VAVE and NPI programs and implement related actions. • Offer expertise in fabrication, painting, welding (SS, CRS, Al TIG & MIG), laser cutting, stamping, bending, and robotics. • Develop production capabilities and manage process constraints. • Create and maintain Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) plans and standard work documentation. • Advise cross‑functional teams on production feasibility and process development.

What You Bring
A bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least four years of direct manufacturing engineering experience are required, including proficiency in SS, CRS, Al TIG & MIG welding, powder coating, E‑Coat, metal fabrication, and familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma principles.
