About the Role

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will design and maintain resilient, high‑performance data infrastructure for CoStar’s core products. Based in Arlington, VA, the role works onsite Monday‑Thursday and remotely on Fridays, focusing on observability, automation, incident response, and scalability across cloud and hybrid environments. • Lead design of observability, automation, and incident‑response frameworks • Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, product, and data teams to evolve core platforms • Influence platform direction and infrastructure strategy across cloud and hybrid deployments • Drive initiatives on performance, failover, disaster recovery, and cost optimization • Reduce complexity at scale with systems‑level thinking • Apply a product mindset to reliability, focusing on customer experience and business impact • Mentor team members and lead by example in high‑performance environments • Design, implement, and maintain APM and observability solutions for large‑scale data infrastructure • Use infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar • Work with relational or document databases • Configure Content Delivery Networks for performance, caching, and global traffic management • Apply solid sizing and estimation techniques for tasks and projects

What You Bring

• Own reliability for massive‑scale global systems and services • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not‑for‑profit university or college • Demonstrate a track record of commitment to prior employers • Possess 5+ years managing large distributed systems using mass‑scale architecture • Experience managing infrastructure for high‑volume, low‑latency applications • Production experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container deployment strategies • Extensive experience with AWS (Azure or Google Cloud a plus) • Familiarity with large‑network infrastructure components in AWS and on‑prem (DNS, hypervisors, containers, multi‑datacenters) • Proficient in Bash scripting and programming languages like Java, C#, Python, or Node.js • Knowledge of serverless architecture methodologies • Familiarity with PCI compliance and remediation processes • Experience developing REST APIs or microservices
