Perform radiation surveys and enforce safety measures in a nuclear plant.

About the Role
Evaluate radiological conditions in the nuclear plant and implement necessary radiological safety measures to protect plant workers and the general public. Perform dose rate, contamination and airborne radioactivity surveys. Provide job coverage for work groups to minimize personnel exposure. Provide briefings and guidance to plant personnel to prohibit unplanned exposure to radioactive material. On an assigned shift, and acting under prescribed rules and approved practices, measure and keep records of radiation levels, clean, maintain, and issue respiratory protection equipment, and perform related work. Due to the nature of the work, individuals may be asked to wear a respirator. • Perform dose rate, contamination, and airborne radioactivity surveys. • Provide job coverage to minimize personnel exposure. • Brief plant personnel to prevent unplanned radioactive exposure. • Measure and record radiation levels, maintain and issue respiratory protection equipment during assigned shifts. • Wear a respirator when required.

What You Bring
High School Diploma or GED required, with ability to pass EEI TECH pre‑employment testing and work different shifts. Must be eligible for Unescorted Nuclear Access and meet ANSI 18.1‑1971 or ANSI 3.1 requirements. Excellent communication, teamwork and organizational skills are essential. Acceptable qualifications include an associate’s degree in Radiation Protection, Health Physics or related field; or a High School Diploma with two years of professional experience in Radiation Protection; or six years of Navy Nuclear experience with Engineering Lab Technician qualifications; or prior Radiation Protection experience at commercial nuclear power plants and passing the NUF exam. • Hold a High School Diploma or GED and pass the EEI TECH pre‑employment test. • Qualified for Unescorted Nuclear Access and meet ANSI 18.1‑1971 or ANSI 3.1 standards. • Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities. • Possess an associate’s degree in Radiation Protection, Health Physics, or related field; or equivalent professional experience; or six years Navy Nuclear experience with ELT qualifications; or commercial nuclear plant Radiation Protection experience with NUF certification.
