About the Role
As an AO Specialist you will act as a key link between field operations teams and the Operational Control Centre, using your expertise to identify and recommend improvements that boost efficiency and reliability across the alarm estate. You will work closely with subject‑matter experts to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include supporting Southern Water’s zero‑pollution target for 2040 through proactive alarm management, driving initiatives to reduce leakage and operational incidents, and collaborating with water and wastewater specialists to enhance the Operational Control Centre. You will innovate new approaches to alarm optimisation, reduce alarm volumes, and build strong stakeholder relationships across the business. • Support Southern Water’s zero‑pollution goal by proactively managing and optimising alarms. • Lead initiatives to reduce leakage, operational incidents and improve regulatory compliance. • Collaborate with water and wastewater specialists to enhance the Operational Control Centre. • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the organisation. • Communicate effectively and network with internal and external stakeholders. • Contribute to a £7.8 bn investment programme, influencing strategic decisions and long‑term value. • Participate in 24/7 incident support rotations to ensure rapid customer service.
