About the Role
The role of Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer focuses on delivering geotechnical solutions that enhance the safety, resilience, and longevity of infrastructure across Ontario. You will collaborate with technical specialists, conduct subsurface investigations, interpret data, and support design and construction monitoring on projects ranging from transportation to land development. Key duties include leading field programs such as borehole drilling, test pitting, in‑situ testing and instrumentation installation, as well as analyzing geotechnical and geological data to formulate recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, pavements and slope stability. You will also prepare clear technical reports, contribute geotechnical input to multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and nurture strong client relationships. • Lead and conduct borehole drilling, test pitting, in‑situ testing, instrumentation installation, and construction monitoring. • Analyze geotechnical and geological data to recommend foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, pavements, and slope stability solutions. • Produce clear technical reports, design briefs, and construction‑phase documentation. • Provide geotechnical expertise to multidisciplinary teams and develop data‑driven solutions. • Mentor junior staff on field methods, analysis techniques, and safety practices. • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication.

What You Bring
We seek candidates with several years of experience in geotechnical engineering or consulting, a degree in Geological, Geotechnical, Civil Engineering or a related discipline, and familiarity with tools like gINT, GeoStudio or Settle3. Comfort working in varied field conditions, strong initiative and curiosity, and a commitment to safe, resilient infrastructure are essential; registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario is a plus. • Several years of geotechnical engineering or consulting experience with subsurface investigations. • Degree in Geological, Geotechnical, Civil Engineering or related field. • Proficiency with gINT, GeoStudio, Settle3 or similar geotechnical software. • Ability to work comfortably in diverse field environments. • P.Eng. registration in Ontario is an asset.

Compensation ranges from $70,600 to $102,500 depending on province, experience and other factors, with the final salary determined by education, qualifications, certifications, performance and business needs.
