About the Role

The engineer will work with cross‑functional teams to execute multidisciplinary technical work, develop traction power and OCS concepts, designs, specifications, and cost estimates, stay current with engineering practices, support business development, ensure quality, and assist with contract negotiations and client meetings. • Collaborate with engineers, planners, and other disciplines on traction power and OCS design for multiple NE Corridor projects. • Create technical designs, specifications, and cost estimates adhering to industry standards. • Keep abreast of emerging traction power and OCS engineering practices. • Assist with business development, proposal preparation, and contract negotiations. • Apply WSP’s quality procedures to all project deliverables. • Lead or support client and internal meetings to resolve project issues. • Follow WSP’s Code of Conduct and ethical decision‑making guidelines.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, have over five years of experience in planning, design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and cut‑over of traction power and OCS systems for Amtrak or similar railroads, possess strong written and interpersonal communication skills, and demonstrate critical thinking, problem‑solving, safety awareness, and flexibility for travel and schedule changes. Immediate US work authorization and adherence to WSP safety and conduct policies are required. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or related) required; 5+ years experience in traction power/OCS systems for Amtrak or similar railroads. • Strong written and verbal communication abilities for technical and non‑technical audiences. • Expertise in reviewing complex technical documents and producing high‑quality deliverables. • Proven critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills to deliver cost‑effective solutions. • Flexibility to adjust schedules, prioritize tasks, and travel as needed. • Preferred: master’s degree, professional licensure or certification.
