About the Role
The role involves managing a team of Project Technical Engineers to produce high‑quality civil and structural engineering deliverables for projects and tenders, while ensuring compliance with standard processes, procedures, safety requirements and appropriate resourcing. Key impacts include leading the team to meet deadlines, implementing process, tool and QMS actions, applying the LOM engineering framework, coordinating closely with operating units, forecasting project and tender workloads, planning resources, and maintaining internal and external KPIs. • Lead a team of Project Technical Engineers to deliver civil/structural engineering outputs on schedule. • Implement and enforce process, tool, and QMS initiatives within the team. • Apply the LOM engineering process in alignment with the global framework. • Coordinate engineering activities with operating units and ensure process compliance. • Forecast project and tender workloads and develop resource plans. • Monitor pipeline, manage staffing, and oversee budgeting for new projects/tenders. • Track and maintain internal and external KPI targets. • Support tender engineering activities and ensure timely delivery of tender deliverables. • Manage performance, development, and competency building for team members. • Identify improvement areas and drive continuous improvement initiatives. • Conduct training and development programs for the engineering team. • Facilitate daily/weekly Scrum meetings and operational follow‑ups. • Ensure adherence to external and internal regulations, procedures, and safety guidelines. • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity in daily actions.
What You Bring
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with at least eight years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with ten years, deep knowledge of substation project engineering, proficiency with civil software tools, and demonstrated people‑management abilities. Strong communication skills, ability to work in a multicultural environment, and fluency in spoken and written English are required. Candidates with disabilities may request reasonable accommodations during the application process. • Hold a Master’s in Civil/Structural Engineering (8+ years) or Bachelor’s (10+ years) with substation project experience. • Possess deep knowledge of civil engineering software and tools. • Demonstrated experience in people management and leading small technical teams. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to work effectively in multicultural/international environments. • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
