About the Role
The Pre‑sales Engineer reports directly to the Pre‑sales Manager and is a key member of the growing Oil & Gas team at Johnson Controls. In this role you will drive business growth by working closely with the Sales team on technical and commercial proposals. You will operate in a vibrant environment that leverages your experience to support pre‑sales estimation and deliver optimized solutions. You will validate assumptions made during solution design, estimates, and scope of work in collaboration with operations, and provide technical risk analysis for the complete solution. You will attend transition meetings with the Operations team to ensure project scope, objectives, timeline, and customer requirements are accurately captured. On‑site data collection at customer facilities and post‑contract design reviews may be required. Strong customer‑relationship skills will be used to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and vendors. • Validate solution design assumptions, estimates, and scope of work with operations. • Conduct technical risk analysis for complete solutions. • Participate in transition meetings to align project scope, objectives, timeline, and customer requirements. • Perform on‑site data collection at customer facilities and support post‑contract design reviews. • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and vendors. • Prepare techno‑commercial proposals with technical write‑ups, bill of quantities, and concept block diagrams. • Validate vendor quotes both technically and commercially and negotiate as needed. • Handle technical queries from clients and consultants. • Apply strong analytical skills to assess business requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards.

What You Bring
A Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, electronic, electrical or a related field is required, together with more than seven years of experience in physical security, radio, networking, safety communication, and cybersecurity systems. You must be familiar with Telecom System Integrator practices, able to validate vendor quotes technically and commercially, and experienced in handling technical queries from clients and consultants. Preparation of techno‑commercial proposals—including technical write‑ups, bill of quantities, and concept block diagrams—is a core responsibility. The role demands a result‑oriented, self‑motivated attitude, excellent verbal and written English communication, strong interpersonal and analytical skills. Preferred qualifications include in‑depth technical knowledge of ADNOC, Qatar Energy, Kuwait Oil Company and PDO standards, OEM product certifications, and proficiency in business analysis. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, electronic, electrical or a similar field. • Possess 7+ years of experience with physical security, radio, networking, safety communication, and cybersecurity systems. • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written English communication and interpersonal abilities.
