About the Role
As Senior Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD), you will act as the liaison between lead designers and WSP’s engineering and specialist teams on major, multi‑disciplinary projects across various sectors. You will develop and manage the BRPD strategy, processes and deliverables, ensuring alignment with the Building Safety Act 2022 and client requirements. Your leadership will guide design teams from inception through to handover, coordinating risk resolution, interdisciplinary workshops, and documentation. • Lead BRPD strategy and processes for high‑risk and non‑high‑risk building projects. • Coordinate design teams, engineers, and specialists to ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022. • Oversee design deliverables, documentation, and interdisciplinary workshops from inception to handover. • Manage project briefs, scopes, schedules, and risk mitigation across all stakeholders. • Represent the design team at high‑level progress review meetings and support bids and opportunities. • Provide technical leadership and mentorship within a rapidly growing design management team.

What You Bring
We are looking for candidates with an Engineering, Architectural or Design Management degree and chartered status or close to achieving it. Proven experience as a client‑facing design manager or technical lead on large, multi‑disciplinary projects, familiarity with RIBA stages 1‑3 and planning submissions, and a highly organised, proactive approach are essential. Strong collaboration, communication skills, and an interest in innovation and the Building Safety Act are also required. Successful applicants must obtain security clearance.
