About the Role

The role involves operating various heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, forklifts, backhoes, and articulated dump trucks to perform construction tasks including material handling, land clearing, excavation, road grading, and underground utility work for heavy civil, industrial, and wind projects. The operator must follow company safety policies, safely operate equipment, build terrain, drive machinery equipped with blades, load materials onto trucks, excavate OSHA‑compliant trenches, coordinate with crew signals, communicate clearly, perform routine maintenance, and be ready to travel to different job sites as needed. • Operate excavators, dozers, loaders, forklifts, backhoes, and articulated dump trucks. • Perform material handling, land clearing, excavation, road grading, and underground utility work. • Follow all company safety policies and participate in daily toolbox meetings. • Drive equipment with blades to remove topsoil, vegetation, and rocks, and to level terrain. • Load dirt, stone, equipment, and waste onto trucks using appropriate machinery. • Excavate trenches to OSHA‑specified slopes. • Coordinate machine actions with crew signals and maintain clear communication. • Perform routine maintenance: cleaning, greasing, oiling, and completing daily reports. • Travel to multiple job sites on short notice as required. • Understand and apply MIC Health and Safety programs and project regulations. • Read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure documents. • Perform basic math calculations for weight and volume measurements.

What You Bring

Candidates need 1–3 years of related heavy‑equipment experience, knowledge of safety programs, ability to read and follow manuals, basic math for measurements, strong communication skills, and the ability to work accurately within established procedures. The job requires up to 12‑hour shifts performing hard physical labor in varying temperatures, lifting up to 50 lb, climbing, working at heights, wearing personal protective equipment, and tolerating dust, noise, and other site conditions. • Possess 1–3 years of heavy‑equipment operation experience. • Work accurately within precise standards and follow established procedures. • Meet physical requirements: lift up to 50 lb, stand, kneel, climb, work at heights, and wear PPE.
