About the Role
The role involves managing satellite shipments by performing releases and confirmations. You will receive, document, store, stage, and issue all job‑related materials to meet production needs, while operating forklifts and yard trucks to move equipment and supplies. Packaging, labeling, and banding of parts and products are also required to protect items during shipment or staging. A strong focus on quality is expected, including performing instructed quality checks and continuously seeking process improvements. Safety and industrial hygiene compliance are mandatory, with proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to departmental safety goals. The work area must be kept clean and organized according to 5S standards. • Perform releases and confirmations for satellite shipments. • Receive, document, store, stage, and issue production materials. • Operate forklifts and yard trucks to transport equipment and supplies. • Package, label, sticker, and band parts and products to prevent damage. • Conduct quality checks as instructed and pursue continuous improvement. • Follow safety and industrial hygiene protocols, using appropriate PPE. • Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S standards. • Collaborate with team members to meet customer orders and product requirements. • Apply analytical and problem‑solving skills to resolve production obstacles. • Participate in Lean initiatives by recommending quality, process, and safety enhancements. • Perform routine preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.

What You Bring
Collaboration with team members is essential to fulfill customer orders promptly and to incorporate feedback on product requirements. You will apply analytical and problem‑solving skills to address obstacles in the production flow. Participation in Lean initiatives, such as suggesting improvements for quality, processes, and environmental safety, is encouraged. The position requires regular standing, walking, reaching, and frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 35 lb, with occasional higher loads. Physical tasks include repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting, as well as using hands for gripping and handling equipment. Vision, hearing, and communication abilities must support both close and far work activities. Candidates must hold a high‑school diploma or GED, be authorized to work in the U.S., and reside within 50 miles of Sumter, SC. Computer proficiency, including Excel, Word, DMM, AS400, Mapics, Vista, and Outlook, is required, along with knowledge of steel and bus fabrication, packaging, receiving, shipping, and inventory control.
