About the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for managing all requirements for civil and construction projects, including change orders, submittals, procurement, financial set‑up, updates, and scheduling, to ensure quality, profitability, safety, and timely completion. This role is primarily field‑based, supporting worksites throughout the assigned area, and typically requires about 75 % travel or temporary relocation. Employees receive a vehicle allowance, fuel card, and per‑diem for meals and lodging while on assignment. The position may be performed in a corporate office or on‑site in the field, exposing the incumbent to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, and moderate noise levels. Standard safety equipment and procedures are required. The role involves regular interaction with clients, subcontractors, and vendors in various work environments. • Lead client liaison and coordinate subcontractors and vendors to support construction activities. • Plan, organize, and staff key field positions in cooperation with division leadership. • Direct on‑site superintendent to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and resolve issues. • Manage contract financials, including fee payments, equipment rentals, income, and expenses. • Prepare and submit design change requests, “as‑built” drawings, status reports, and punch lists. • Provide technical guidance to engineers, trades, and superintendents on design intent and construction feasibility. • Monitor construction progress and generate monthly billings based on contractual milestones. • Schedule and oversee heavy‑equipment service and maintenance to minimize downtime and costs. • Coordinate safety activities, ensuring compliance with SDS, PPE, and health‑safety plans. • Utilize Microsoft Office, construction estimating software, and MS Project/Primavera for planning and scheduling. • Apply civil‑engineering knowledge of mass grading, earthwork, stormwater management, and utility infrastructure.
