About the Role
The position involves ITS systems engineering and electrical design for roadway and highway reconstruction, fiber‑optic and wireless communications, traffic signal systems, dynamic message signs, CCTV cameras, vehicle detection systems, roadside communication devices, and highway, roadway, and intersection lighting. Responsibilities include preparing design plans in AutoCAD and MicroStation, performing photometric analysis, and generating electrical load calculations, wiring diagrams, and panel schedules with minimal oversight. • Design ITS and lighting systems for roadways, highways, and intersections. • Develop fiber‑optic and wireless communication networks, including conduit layouts and power distribution. • Create traffic signal system designs, wiring diagrams, and panel schedules. • Engineer ITS infrastructure such as dynamic message signs, CCTV cameras, vehicle detection, and roadside communications. • Perform highway and intersection lighting design, photometric analysis, and electrical load calculations. • Produce design plans using AutoCAD and MicroStation. • Prepare electrical load calculations, wiring diagrams, and panel schedules with minimal oversight.

What You Bring
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our Traffic Engineering Design/ITS Group. This intermediate-level role offers the chance to work on a variety of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and lighting design projects for city, state, and private‑sector clients. Minimum qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least two years of relevant design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation, and familiarity with NEC codes and lighting calculations. Preferred qualifications include three or more years of experience, Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, studying for the Professional Engineer exam, prior work in ITS, traffic signal, or lighting design, and strong communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least two years of relevant design experience. • Possess knowledge of NEC codes and lighting calculations; proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation. • Preferred: three or more years experience, EIT certification, pursuing PE license, strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
