About the Role

The Senior Commissioning Agent position is based in Tampa, FL, and focuses on designing, testing, operating, optimizing, and validating electrical systems in 24x7 mission‑critical plants, pharmaceutical, healthcare, power generation, and similar environments. The role works closely with design engineers, vendors, contractors, and client personnel to ensure systems meet performance and reliability goals. In this role you will develop and coordinate functional testing of multi‑stack equipment and redundant system configurations, review specifications, drawings, and equipment submittals, and create commissioning plans and system manuals that follow Syska format. Additional duties include overseeing QA/QC processes, assisting senior engineers and project managers with scheduling, staffing and budgeting, conducting construction administration and field investigations, and producing detailed inspection reports. • Develop and coordinate functional testing of multi‑stack equipment and redundant system configurations. • Review criteria, specifications, drawings, and equipment submittals for commissioning. • Write and administer Commissioning Plans and Systems Manuals per Syska format. • Oversee QA/QC processes for own work and that of the team. • Assist senior engineers/project managers with project scheduling, staffing, and budgeting. • Perform construction administration, field inspections, and detailed inspection reporting.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or possess equivalent experience, with at least seven years of hands‑on testing, validation, and troubleshooting of large electrical or mechanical systems, and 7‑10 years of relevant MEP experience. Familiarity with LEED principles, applicable codes, and procedures such as ASHRAE, BCxA, PECI Cx, and RETRO‑Cx is preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. • Minimum 7 years of field experience in testing, validation, and troubleshooting large Electrical or Mechanical systems. • 7–10 years of relevant MEP experience. • Understanding of system selection, LEED principles, and applicable codes. • Experience with ASHRAE, BCxA, PECI Cx, or RETRO‑Cx procedures (preferred).
