About the Role
The Supervising Engineer – Transmission Line leads the planning and design of high‑voltage infrastructure, overseeing a team of engineers and designers to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all regulations. The role supports new construction, upgrades, and critical maintenance of transmission lines and substations, applying traditional methods and innovative technologies for sustainable, cost‑effective power delivery. • Lead projects from planning through design, permitting, construction support, and closeout. • Supervise engineers, designers, and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. • Oversee preparation of engineering designs, specifications, and plans for substations and transmission lines. • Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost‑effective solutions. • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards. • Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, and the public to achieve successful project delivery. • Implement quality control procedures to maintain high workmanship and material standards. • Prepare and maintain detailed project status reports, engineering documentation, and records.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least seven years of electric utility experience, a B.S. or graduate degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program, and a Professional Engineer license. They should possess a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams, deep technical expertise in civil, structural, electrical, or mechanical engineering, and knowledge of utility standards, codes, and project controls. • Minimum 7 years of electric utility engineering or management experience on high‑voltage projects. • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution. • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and deliver complex projects on time and within budget. • Strong expertise in structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering and deep knowledge of utility codes (ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, NEC, NESC). • Experience with utility industry processes, scheduling, contracts, and project controls. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize in ambiguous, complex environments.
