About the Role

The Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor will lead cost control activities for the Contracting Entity, managing a team of Intermediate Quantity Surveyors. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining cost‑management strategies, ensuring compliance with cost control standards, overseeing variations and cash‑flow forecasts, and providing financial advice to the Risk team. The role also involves handling contractor claims, delivering value for money, and maintaining robust reporting processes across the programme. • Lead cost control for the Contracting Entity and manage a team of Intermediate Quantity Surveyors. • Develop and continuously improve cost control processes, procedures, and policies aligned with industry best practice. • Monitor compliance with cost control standards and report non‑conformances to senior management. • Create and maintain the overall cost management strategy for the programme. • Review and influence contractor KPIs related to cost, expenditure, and budget management. • Oversee variation management, including cash‑flow forecasting, amendments, retention, and liquidated damages. • Provide financial risk advice to the Risk team and monitor anticipated final programme costs. • Escalate cost control issues and support responses to contractor claims. • Ensure optimum value for money throughout procurement and delivery phases. • Implement and maintain reporting systems for timely, accurate cost dissemination. • Foster relationships with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and professional bodies. • Offer specialist advice on claims and disputes arising under construction and consultancy contracts. • Review schedules of rates and bills of quantities to support pre‑tender estimates and budgets. • Approve monthly post‑contract valuations, cost reports, variation orders, and final accounts.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management and be registered on the Statutory Register of Quantity Surveyors in Ireland, preferably with Chartered status from RICS or SCSI. Strong IT proficiency and experience with digital measurement, cost planning, and tendering tools are essential. Professional experience within infrastructure markets is required to succeed in this position. • Hold a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying/Cost Management and be on the Irish statutory register. • Preferably possess Chartered Quantity Surveyor status with RICS or SCSI. • Demonstrate excellent IT skills and proficiency with digital measurement and cost planning tools.
