About the Role
The role involves specialized distribution center tasks such as loading, unloading, order pulling, shipping, returns, fabrication, and counter work, or a generalized role across all departments. Responsibilities include completing loading, unloading, sorting, picking, stocking, staging, fabrication, and transportation of goods, as well as operating forklift or other machinery when required. You will install protective devices like bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage, verify computations against physical stock counts, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Safety is a priority: you must follow company safety policies, encourage others, conduct safety inspections, implement training, monitor hazardous materials, and follow emergency evacuation plans. • Load, unload, sort, pick, stock, stage, and fabricate goods. • Operate forklift or other machinery as needed. • Install protective devices (bracing, padding, strapping) to prevent damage. • Verify inventory counts against physical stock. • Maintain a clean, organized work area. • Follow and promote company safety policies and conduct inspections. • Provide safety training and monitor hazardous materials. • Receive and fill distribution orders.

What You Bring
Work is performed in a comfortable indoor environment with mainly seated tasks and frequent opportunities to move about; occasional light lifting may be required. Travel is minimal, typically less than 10% overnight. A high school diploma or GED is strongly preferred, along with 0‑2 years of related experience. Forklift certification is preferred. White Cap operates about 500 branches across North America, serving 200,000 customers with a wide range of construction supplies. • Hold a high school diploma or GED; 0‑2 years experience preferred. • Forklift certification preferred.
