About the Role

• Champion a strong safety culture across the site and maximize personnel involvement in safety activities. • Provide timely, high‑quality safety technical support. • Conduct regular workplace inspections to ensure compliance with site rules and procedures. • Coordinate completion of job safety analyses, risk assessments, and pre‑task plans. • Prepare and submit required local, state, and internal safety reports. • Review and track investigations of injuries, illnesses, environmental releases, accidents, and near‑misses to identify root causes. • Lead investigations into serious adverse events. • Monitor and analyze safety performance trends and initiate corrective actions. • Coordinate and develop local business continuity, emergency response, and crisis management plans.

What You Bring

ERM is hiring a Construction Safety Manager for a data center construction project in Abilene, Texas. This full‑time, limited‑term role (50+ hours per week) lasts 12 months with the possibility of extension. The manager will establish, implement, manage, and continuously improve site‑wide safety programs and systems. Broad knowledge of safety compliance and specialty areas is required. The position supports tactical safety regulations and best practices across the construction site. • Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, engineering, or a related field (preferred). • Minimum five years of health and safety experience in construction, with at least two years on data‑center projects (preferred). • CHST/CSP certification is a plus. • Proficient in managing high‑risk activities such as electrical safety, excavation, fall protection, material handling, and crane operations. • Skilled at communicating and problem‑solving collaboratively with subcontractors. • Experience working with trades such as electricians, ironworkers, and pipefitters is advantageous. • Understanding of multi‑employer worksite complexities. • Experienced trainer on construction safety topics, comfortable with a variety of trades. • Demonstrated ability to conduct construction site safety audits and inspections. • Experience conducting incident investigations and following reporting processes. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, emphasizing timely reporting.
