About the Role
Plan, layout, and perform all types of structural steel erection and fabrication work in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The role may also involve work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills, as requested by project supervision. The incumbent must be able to take direction from a higher‑skilled worker or foreman. Key responsibilities include sharing knowledge and teaching others, eliminating waste such as waiting, rework, transport, storage, and time, and maintaining high proficiency in trade mathematics. The employee inspects subordinate work for accuracy and compliance, lifts and carries items up to 50 lb, and continuously seeks improvement in tasks and methods while learning from others. Maintaining positive crew relationships, producing high‑quality work safely and productively, and providing feedback to ensure necessary materials, tools, equipment, and information are available are also essential. • Share knowledge and mentor teammates • Eliminate waste (waiting, rework, transport, storage, time) • Inspect subordinates' work for accuracy and compliance, correcting deficiencies • Lift and carry items up to 50 lb • Identify and implement improvements in tasks and methods • Maintain positive relationships with crew members • Produce high‑quality work safely and productively • Provide feedback to ensure necessary materials, tools, equipment, and information are available • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards • Move in confined, cluttered, and uneven work areas • Comply with all safety standards and procedures • Work up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions

What You Bring
Minimum job requirements demand the ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards, and to effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment. Candidates must have a minimum of three to six plus years of experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry with an in‑depth understanding of the ironworker trade, and possess effective verbal and written communication skills. The job description may change at any time and may include additional duties as assigned. Physical requirements include wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, and vest. The role involves frequent reaching above shoulder height and below the waist, occasional stooping, kneeling, or bending, and frequent climbing and balancing on steel or wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. Workers must be able to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lb, move in confined and uneven areas, comply with all safety standards, and work up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions. • Maintain high proficiency in trade mathematics • Utilize trade tools and equipment effectively • Possess 3–6+ years of industrial/commercial construction experience with deep ironworker knowledge • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication • Wear required PPE (steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest) • Reach above shoulder height and below waist frequently • Climb and balance on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds
