About the Role
The Roadway Project Manager will lead the successful delivery of transportation projects from start to finish, overseeing project scope, financial performance, and a multidisciplinary team while building strong client relationships and supporting business development. In this role the manager will establish and monitor project scope and fees, use project‑management tools to track tasks and schedules, and ensure timely completion of design phases. Responsibilities include assigning design tasks, preparing calculations and submittals, communicating high‑level concepts with internal and external stakeholders, and coordinating across disciplines to minimize revisions. The manager will also address client needs, resolve conflicts, conduct constructability and peer reviews, and may serve as Engineer of Record. Additional duties involve negotiating contracts, working with accountants on budgeting and invoicing, reporting financial metrics, and managing proposals and marketing activities. • Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver transportation projects from inception to completion. • Establish and monitor project scope, fees, and financial performance to ensure contract compliance. • Utilize project management tools to track tasks, schedules, and milestones. • Assign design tasks, oversee calculations, plans, and submittals. • Communicate concepts with internal groups, clients, subconsultants, and government agencies. • Coordinate across disciplines to streamline design and reduce revisions. • Address client needs, resolve conflicts, and conduct constructability and peer reviews. • Serve as Engineer of Record when required and negotiate contracts with finance and legal support. • Collaborate with accountants on budgeting, invoicing, collections, and financial reporting. • Use CRM to track business opportunities and manage proposal processes. • Mentor and coach team members, identify training gaps, and support recruitment and onboarding.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and a Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license, or willingness to obtain one. Candidates must have at least ten years of post‑PE experience with a broad technical and business background. Preferred qualifications encompass comprehensive knowledge of FDOT processes and a proven track record delivering roadway projects in Florida. Prior project‑manager experience with FDOT and familiarity with security clearance requirements are assets. • Hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related) and a Florida PE license (or willingness to obtain). • Bring 10+ years post‑PE experience delivering roadway projects, preferably with FDOT knowledge.
