What You Bring
The Pearl River Utilities Operations Maintenance Department is hiring an Apprentice Facilities Technician. Candidates must have at least a high‑school diploma and 0‑3 years of experience in a facilities plant (steam, chill water, HVAC) or a similar industrial setting. The role is based on a 256‑acre campus with multiple work locations. Minimum qualifications include a high‑school diploma or equivalent, proficiency in English, basic math skills, and the ability to pass a thorough background check and physical exam. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license, be able to lift up to 50 lb, and be capable of working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varied environmental conditions. Preferred experience includes plumbing service work. • Arrive reliably and adhere to the established work schedule. • High school diploma or equivalent. • 0–3 years experience in a facilities plant or similar industrial environment. • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English. • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. • Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. • Ability to stand, crouch, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces and at heights. • Ability to work on wet, slick, metal, or uneven surfaces and in loud, hot, cold, wet, or dry environments. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. • Pass extensive background check, physical exam, and IUOE Local 30 union requirements.
