About the Role
In this position, you will act as the primary technical authority for the region, leading a multidisciplinary team of field staff, engineers, and scientists. You will oversee the development and final review of geotechnical reports and design packages, ensuring compliance with DOT and AASHTO specifications, and mentor junior and mid‑level staff to support their professional growth. • Serve as final technical reviewer for geotechnical reports, ensuring design accuracy. • Oversee preparation and sign‑off of geotechnical engineering reports and design packages. • Provide technical expertise on DOT and AASHTO specifications to branch staff. • Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers, technicians, designers, and project managers. • Lead design of slope stability, foundations, retaining structures, and settlement analyses. • Direct field exploration activities such as drilling, test pits, and site inspections. • Drive business development by attending client meetings and identifying growth opportunities. • Collaborate with the Associate Principal review committee to develop future leaders. • Managed three or more large‑scale transportation projects simultaneously.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate has at least 12 years of experience in geotechnical and transportation engineering, holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related engineering field, and possesses a Professional Engineer license. Required expertise includes the DOT Geotechnical Design Manual, AASHTO LRFD specifications, and proficiency with MicroStation or OpenRoads, as well as a valid driver’s license for site travel. Preferred qualifications include experience with specialized software such as gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB‑Pier, and GRLWEAP, the ability to manage multiple large‑scale transportation projects simultaneously, and active participation in professional organizations like ASCE or ACEC. • 12+ years of experience in geotechnical and transportation engineering. • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil, geotechnical, geological, or related engineering. • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Professional Geologist (PG) acceptable where applicable. • Proven expertise with DOT Geotechnical Design Manual and AASHTO LRFD specifications. • Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads, or similar infrastructure design software. • Experience as a senior technical reviewer and valid driver’s license for site travel. • Proficiency with gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB‑Pier, and GRLWEAP software. • Active participation in professional societies such as ASCE, ACEC, or geotechnical institutes.
