About the Role
The Welding Helper assists experienced welders with preparing materials, operating equipment, and maintaining a safe work environment to support the welding process at AAON. The role also involves reading basic welding blueprints, performing tack welding, keeping the work area clean and safe, following all safety procedures, and helping train new helpers when needed. • Assist Welder I and Welder II with various welding tasks as directed • Prepare workpieces by cleaning, grinding, and scraping • Set up welding equipment and tools under supervision • Properly handle and store welding materials and equipment • Operate power tools and hand tools under guidance • Perform tack welding to join components • Maintain a safe and clean work environment • Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times • Assist in training and mentoring new helpers • Sit or stand for up to 95 % of work hours • Work in a manufacturing facility with seasonal hot/cold temperatures, dust, and chemical fume exposure

What You Bring
This entry‑level position requires the ability to assist Welder I and Welder II in various tasks, prepare workpieces by cleaning, grinding and scraping, set up welding equipment under supervision, handle and store materials properly, and operate power and hand tools as directed. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal skills, decision‑making, multitasking and teamwork abilities, as well as meet physical requirements such as lifting up to 50 lb and working in varying temperatures. • Read and interpret basic welding blueprints and instructions • Communicates effectively in written and spoken form • Possesses excellent interpersonal relationship skills • Exhibits good decision making and analytical problem‑solving abilities • Demonstrates strong multi‑tasking capabilities and organizational skills • Works effectively in a team environment • Works effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment • Lift up to 50 lb
