About the Role
The Maintenance Supervisor role involves managing a skilled team of trades to deliver critical maintenance services across Defence sites, contributing to a high‑impact, nationally significant operation in a dynamic environment. • Oversee planned maintenance and repair works, including audits and optimisation of assets. • Provide ongoing support and leadership to trades and maintenance team. • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and Defence contracts. • Actively support and participate in transformation programmes. • Allocate work orders to timesheets accurately. • Oversee contractor safety frameworks, including SWMS and compliance with Ventia Critical Risk Protocols. • Proactively manage contractor performance metrics on a monthly basis. • Conduct site assessments to ensure contractual compliance and initiate work orders or quotes as needed. • Manage client requests and feedback, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a trade qualification in HVAC, plumbing or electrical (trade licence desirable), be willing to act as a nominee supervisor and travel interstate, and have proven operational leadership experience in Defence or similar complex settings. They need working knowledge of WHS legislation, experience supervising subcontractors, strong negotiation and communication skills, intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, a valid C‑class driver’s licence, and eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance as an Australian citizen. • Recognised Veteran Employer of Choice by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. • Uniform and PPE supplied. • Trade qualification in HVAC, plumbing or electrical (trade licence desirable). • Willingness to act as nominee supervisor and travel interstate. • Proven operational leadership experience in Defence or similar complex environments. • Working knowledge of WHS legislation, WHS committees and safety culture development. • Experience supervising subcontractors and liaising directly with clients. • Strong negotiation and communication skills. • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. • Valid C‑class driver’s licence. • Eligibility for Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizen, able to obtain AFP check).
