About the Role

The Automation Engineer will design, develop, implement, and maintain automation systems that support manufacturing operations. Working closely with the Lead Automation Engineer, engineering, maintenance, and operations teams, the role focuses on troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and the development of reliable automated solutions. The position encompasses a broad range of duties, from supporting PLC, HMI, robotics, and vision system programming to maintaining electrical schematics and network documentation. It also involves leading automation‑focused capital projects, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to specification. • Design, program, and maintain PLC logic, HMI screens, safety circuits, and industrial networks. • Support installation, upgrade, and retrofit of manufacturing equipment and automation hardware. • Troubleshoot daily automation and control issues, performing root‑cause analysis and safe equipment restoration. • Lead automation‑focused capital projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, risk, and vendor deliverables. • Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and ergonomics. • Maintain accurate electrical schematics, network diagrams, and software backups per change‑management standards.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold an engineering degree and have experience in industrial automation, demonstrating core technical competencies and the ability to lead projects. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent). • Minimum 2 years experience in industrial automation or controls engineering. • Proficient in PLC programming (Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley preferred), HMI development, and industrial networking. • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation. • Experience with 3D modeling software and basic robotics/vision systems (preferred). • Demonstrated project leadership and technical mentorship capabilities.
