About the Role

• Collaborate with project engineers to design highways, roads, waterfront and aviation infrastructure. • Develop alignments, profiles, geometric layouts, utilities, drainage plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates. • Prepare engineering calculations and technical reports. • Provide construction‑phase engineering support, including responding to RFIs, reviewing material submittals, and conducting site inspections. • Perform independent tasks on small projects and assist senior engineers on larger, complex assignments. • Support business development for new and existing transportation clients in Hawaii and the Pacific region.

What You Bring

We seek individuals who are dedicated to active participation in our employee‑owned culture and who hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. • EIT certification preferred; candidates without it will be titled “Civil Coordinator” and expected to obtain EIT for career progression. • Prior experience at an architectural/engineering or consulting firm (optional). • Experience with AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D (optional). • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. • Demonstrated commitment to active participation in HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
