About the Role

Function as a Journeyman for Bergelectric Corp., installing new electrical systems and repairing existing ones while maintaining compliance with national, state and local electrical codes and company policies. The role supports activities at commercial, industrial, institutional and residential locations and is classified as a safety‑sensitive position. The journeyman installs, repairs, maintains and tests electrical systems, using hand and power tools to measure, cut, bend, thread, and install wiring, conduit and other raceways. Responsibilities also include terminating wires, splicing at junctions, troubleshooting circuits, building control panels from drawings, preparing schematics, delegating tasks, training staff, communicating with foremen, managing workflow schedules, and upholding professional conduct and safety standards. Work may occur in varied weather conditions—including cold, snow, rain and heat—and in high‑noise environments. • Install, repair, maintain, and test commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems. • Use industry‑related hand tools and power tools. • Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install wires, electrical cables, conduit, and other raceway systems. • Feed, pull, and terminate wire and cable in control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switchgear, receptacles, and switches. • Splice and terminate wires at junction points. • Troubleshoot equipment electrical systems and control circuits; build control panels from drawings. • Prepare sketches and schematic diagrams showing wiring and system locations. • Delegate tasks and assist with training other employees. • Maintain workflow schedule to meet productivity objectives. • Adhere to all Bergelectric safety policies and procedures. • Install power systems including lighting, fire protection, security, and data networks. • Build and install control panels and perform system maintenance. • Read and use electrical single‑line blueprints. • Find and repair faults in electrical apparatus and circuits. • Verify compliance and functionality of installations. • Assist in project and crew management. • Manage material estimates.

What You Bring

A current Journeyman Wireman license is required where applicable, along with the ability to install power, lighting, fire protection, security and data network systems. Experience with control panels, single‑line blueprints, fault diagnosis, compliance verification, project and crew management, material estimating, and strong leadership is also essential. The position requires lifting up to 50 lb, pulling 50 lb of force, climbing ladders, pulling wire, bending conduit, squatting, stooping, kneeling while wearing a 25 lb tool belt, and standing for long periods while performing repetitive hand motions. Work is performed from ladders, man lifts or reach booms. • Communicate effectively with foremen and crew members. • Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy with colleagues, customers, and vendors. • Hold a current Journeyman Wireman license where required. • Exhibit strong leadership and pre‑planning abilities.

Benefits
