About the Role
Key duties include performing quantity take‑offs from drawings, preparing Bills of Quantities for all disciplines, and developing cost plans to support client approval. The engineer will estimate costs at each design and construction stage, pre‑qualify vendors, prepare tender documents and conditions, run the tender process, and hand over packages to the construction team. The role also involves contracting and monitoring commercial aspects such as invoicing, cost monitoring, and providing inputs for bank guarantees and insurance policies. Detailed checking of measurements, analysis of rates, verification of contractor bills and variations, and maintaining project cost control records are required. Additionally, the engineer will track the budget and prepare monthly cash‑flow statements. • Perform quantity take‑offs from project drawings. • Prepare Bills of Quantities for all disciplines. • Develop cost plans and assist clients in obtaining approvals. • Estimate costs for each design and construction stage. • Pre‑qualify vendors for each work package. • Prepare tender documents, conditions (e.g., GCC/SCC), and run the tender process. • Conduct kick‑off meetings and hand over packages to construction teams. • Manage contract administration, including invoicing, cost monitoring, and inputs for bank guarantees and insurance. • Perform detailed measurement checks, rate analysis, and verify contractor bills and variations. • Maintain project cost control records and track budgets. • Prepare monthly cash‑flow statements.

The role will ensure accurate project costing, timely contractor billing, and effective coordination with site and project management teams. Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational and analytical abilities, and the capacity to deliver efficient, timely, and courteous service to customers are essential. The candidate must possess basic financial knowledge, including understanding of financial terms and the ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages. • Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, analytical, and basic financial skills.
