About the Role
Key duties include providing in‑depth technical expertise to develop and manage engineering analyses, directly consulting to resolve equipment and system issues, and overseeing the complete task management of engineering projects. The engineer performs independent research, reviews, and analyses, and recommends equipment, concepts, and techniques that improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with evolving codes and regulations. • Provide in‑depth technical expertise for engineering analysis and program implementation. • Identify and resolve equipment and system problems through direct consultation. • Manage engineering tasks ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper configuration management. • Conduct independent research, reviews, and analyses to support technical projects. • Recommend equipment, concepts, and techniques to improve performance and reduce costs. • Maintain required access credentials and pass medical examinations.

The Engineer, Civil/Structural position is based at the Ginna Clean Energy Center in Ontario, NY, and focuses on advanced technical problem solving for nuclear plant operations. The role requires sound engineering judgment, deep functional expertise, and thorough knowledge of industry codes and regulations. Minimum qualifications vary by level: entry‑level engineers need a B.S. in Engineering and must meet access and medical requirements; mid‑level engineers need at least two years of nuclear or related experience and must meet ANSI/ANS‑3.1‑2014 standards; senior engineers require five years of relevant experience and the same standards. Preferred qualifications include Professional Engineer registration and an advanced technical degree or related coursework. • Hold a B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear). • Possess 2+ years of nuclear or related engineering experience for mid‑level positions. • Possess 5+ years of nuclear or related engineering experience for senior positions. • Meet ANSI/ANS‑3.1‑2014 qualification standards for nuclear power plant personnel. • Professional Engineer (PE) registration and advanced technical degree are preferred.
