About the Role
The OHE General Foreman leads crews that place overhead electrical cables, ensuring safety, tracking employee hours, and conducting daily and weekly safety briefings and inspections. This role requires extensive knowledge of overhead distribution systems, crew management, troubleshooting, storm‑crew coordination, scheduling, and resource allocation. The foreman reads blueprints, drives production efficiency, trains personnel, and coordinates logistics with internal and external departments. • Obtain necessary materials and ensure permits/licenses are in place. • Oversee project work, ensuring quality and timeliness. • Comply with higher‑of‑the‑two safety standards and procedures. • Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections. • Disseminate safety briefings and ensure crew understanding. • Perform aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, and lashing as a qualified observer. • Place overhead electrical cables. • Connect wires and cables to terminals and attach/detach hardware to structures. • Coordinate and supervise daily crew tasks related to digging and product placement. • Perform construction work, including digging holes, installing cable, air pipe, and inner duct work in conduit systems and open excavations. • Climb utility poles or operate aerial lift trucks to place cables per design. • Drive, haul, and operate equipment to and from job sites. • Train new hires and trainees in trade skills. • Call in utilities located at each project site.

What You Bring
The position operates in a field environment that demands frequent bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and work in extreme weather conditions. Employees must maintain clear vision, precise hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to distinguish colors while performing physically active tasks such as digging, pole climbing, and equipment operation. • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent. • Minimum: Seven years of relevant experience. • Minimum: Three years of supervisory experience. • Minimum: Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). • Preferred: Ten or more years of experience with extensive supervision and training of skilled labor. • Preferred: OSHA 20 Certification.
