About the Role

The Sr. Technical Professional – Instrumentation/Controls is responsible for designing, specifying, and providing services for a broad range of control systems, including basic process control, safety systems, control panels, analyzer systems, telecommunications, field instrumentation, and valves. The role may also involve advanced controls optimization and requires an ability to devise new approaches to engineering challenges under general supervision. The position demands planning, scheduling, and execution of work that requires independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques. It includes handling complex design requirements, coordinating with diverse stakeholders, and providing technical guidance to designers and less‑experienced engineers. Successful performance impacts cost containment, efficiency, profitability, and overall operations. • Design and specify control systems covering process control, safety, panels, analyzers, telecommunications, instrumentation, and valves. • Optimize advanced control solutions where applicable. • Plan, schedule, and manage engineering projects using independent technical judgment. • Resolve complex design conflicts and coordinate multidisciplinary requirements. • Provide technical mentorship to designers and junior engineers. • Lead small projects or project segments, overseeing budget, schedule, and team performance.

What You Bring

Candidates must possess an undergraduate engineering degree and a minimum of four years of related experience, with typical experience ranging from six to ten years. Professional competence as a fully trained engineer is required, and a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer certification is preferred. The role may also involve leading a functional area on a small project or a segment of a larger project, including budgeting, organizing, and coaching lower‑level professionals. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least four years of relevant experience (typically 6‑10 years). • Preferred certification: Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer.
