Job Highlights
About the Role
Inspectors will perform quality‑control construction observations across highway, bridge, and site work, including drainage, earthwork, paving, concrete, reinforcement steel placement, utility relocation, and traffic protection. They will read contract documents and construction plans, monitor construction sequencing, cost, schedule, and performance decisions, and maintain proper document control, quality‑assurance documentation, and uniform project records. • Conduct quality control observations for highway, bridge, and site work including drainage, earthwork, paving, concrete, reinforcement steel, utility relocation, and traffic protection. • Review contract documents and construction plans. • Monitor and track construction sequencing, cost, schedule, and performance decisions on site. • Maintain proper document control, quality assurance records, and project documentation. • Ensure uniformity and quality across all contract records.

What You Bring
Candidates need at least one year of construction engineering or inspection experience, particularly in roadway inspection and traffic protection, with bridge work considered a plus. A valid US driver’s license is required, NICET certification is preferred, and strong Microsoft Office, time‑management, detail‑orientation, and organizational skills are essential. Knowledge of NCDOT road specifications and proficiency in English for written and verbal communications are also desirable. • Minimum 1 year of construction engineering/inspection experience, especially roadway inspection and traffic protection. • Bridge construction experience (rehabilitation or new) is a plus. • Valid US driver’s license. • NICET certification preferred. • Proficient with Microsoft Office. • Strong time management, detail‑orientation, and organizational skills. • Knowledge of NCDOT road specifications is advantageous. • Ability to read, write, and understand English for job communications.
