About the Role
The on‑site Quality Engineer in Manchester, CT will provide quality support to product manufacturing, resolve defects, and ensure products meet customer specifications. The role involves coordinating MRB activities, leading root‑cause‑corrective‑action efforts, and driving continuous improvement across the Manchester and Columbia facilities. You will also support new product planning, FAIR/PPAR/PFMEA activities, and maintain the QMS. • Ensure product conformity across all value streams at Manchester and Columbia sites. • Investigate customer complaints and returns, performing root‑cause analysis and confirming corrective actions. • Coordinate MRB activities and lead cross‑functional continuous‑improvement projects to reduce cost of poor quality. • Manage RCCA processes with internal teams and suppliers using Lean/QC tools such as Kaizen, 5‑Why and 8D. • Drive adoption of new technologies to improve quality, QA productivity, and reduce manual part layout. • Plan and execute new product introductions, including contract review, tracking, and validation. • Support FAIR, PPAR, and PFMEA activities as required. • Prepare QMS performance reports and standardize quality standards, processes, and work instructions. • Become proficient in ETQ and PQP systems to facilitate program transitions. • Conduct inspections, train inspectors, and develop inspection and testing standards. • Participate in contract reviews to ensure compliance with QMS and customer requirements. • Establish and maintain statistical process control (SPC) systems for process monitoring. • Support QMS maintenance for standards such as AS9100, AS9101, AS9102, AS9103, AS13100, AS9145, FAA, EASA, NADCAP. • Provide assistance to the Quality Inspection function to ensure product and process compliance.

What You Bring
Ideal candidates have at least an associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) and four years of aerospace manufacturing quality experience. Required competencies include familiarity with AS9100D, ISO 9001, RCCA methodologies, data‑trend analysis, and ERP systems such as xTuple. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is mandatory, and strong communication skills for presenting to senior leadership are essential. • Preferred qualifications: military or commercial experience, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Designated Quality Representative, or Certified Manager of Quality/Operational Excellence (CMQ/OE).
