About the Role
The structural team supports heavy‑construction projects that require unique problem solving, specialized equipment design, and complex phasing, as well as traditional design services for buildings, transit stations, industrial facilities, tunnels, water/wastewater plants, and dam structures. Engineers leverage building information modeling to collaborate throughout design and construction, delivering resilient and sustainable built environments. • Perform and check structural design and analysis computations. • Prepare construction plans for a wide variety of building and vertical structures. • Develop contract documents, including plans, details, and specifications. • Conduct structural calculations per the Building Code and jurisdictional amendments. • Review construction documents such as shop drawings and contractor requests. • Perform on‑site structural observations for existing and new structures. • Prepare clear, concise summary and detailed reports. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to entry‑level engineers. • Lead and manage entry‑level engineers reporting directly to you. • Execute finite element modelling for complex analyses. • Manage structurally led projects, overseeing schedule and deliverables. • Apply strong steel and concrete design expertise. • Organize, multitask, and adjust priorities based on client requests and workload.

What You Bring

The Principal Structural Engineer will lead diverse projects ranging from buildings to transit stations and water/wastewater structures while providing technical mentorship to junior staff. • Utilize diversified knowledge of engineering principles, building codes, materials, equipment, and construction techniques. • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis; Master’s preferred. • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; SE preferred. • Minimum 15 years of structural design experience on buildings, water/wastewater, or transit projects. • Minimum 5 years in a structural lead, team lead, people leader, or project manager role. • Proficiency with RISA, ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, STAAD, Mathcad, TEDDS, or similar analysis software. • Experience with Revit for BIM coordination.

Benefits
